I completely forgot how it felt to not have anything to write about but be required to write anyway. Ah yes, this is how it feels.
Today was a crummy day. I felt off, like I really didn’t know what to do with myself and was completely not interested in a lot of anything. I didn’t want to be at home, but I didn’t know what to do with myself away from home either. I spent a few hours at Panera today and I really didn’t do anything. I watched some internet TV and just surfed the net. It was quite nice to be away from home though.
I was so snappy with Master and he was nice enough to just remind me that I’ve had an attitude. I guess I could have gotten in trouble, and there’s no saying that I won’t later for being horrible to him. I really need to work on adjusting my behavior around him. It’s just not right.
So why am I behaving this way? Am I wanting to get in trouble? What do I expect the gain? Where did my submission go? I think it’s time to find my way deep into my service and figure it out.
On to other things… Master wants me to start the Miss Abernathy lessons back up again. I’ll have to reread the book but I think I can get going on it again.Hopefully I’ll learn something from them that will help our relationship thrive in peaceful bliss.
I’ve always wondered if doing them on Submissive Guide in some way would be helpful. And then, I’d have to change them enough so that I wasn’t infringing on copyright too. I’m going to have to read up on how changed it needs to be before I can use them.

The Miss Abernathy Lessons are in the book Training with Miss Abernathy. You can now find it in an onmibus called Erotic Slavehood: A Miss Abernathy Omnibus with her other book Concise Slave Training Manual.
If you go to the bottom of the page on my blog there is a category for Miss Abernathy Training that you can see where I started before. I’m just going to pick up where I left off when I get back into it.
You can do a book “like” that one without a problem because the idea or concept behind the book cannot be copyrighted.
In other words, if I did a book about zombies with worm fingers who liked to spank giraffes … ummm … well, I guess I’d be committed, but for the sake of argument … if I did that, you could come out with a book about a book about ghosts with snake fingers who liked to spank zebras.
Other than a strong possibility of you and I sharing a padded room somewhere, you would face no legal problems because you can’t copyright an idea. You also can’t copyright a title (unless it has been trademarked).
So, if you wanted to do a book about the son of Superman who lived on a diet of broccoli and baked beans and destroyed bad guys by blowing them into another dimension with his powerful farts, you could call it “Gone With The Wind” if you wanted.
Where you will run into problems is if you copy any parts of the book verbatim or, perhaps, even have a similar chapter structure and the same type topics, etc.
One way to look at it is if someone read both books would there be a chance they might think your book was a ripoff of the other?
That certainly isn’t how a lawsuit would be decided, but what it means is that you need to change your book enough so that it might be clearly using the idea of the other book, but it’s a completely different book.
Think of “Computers For Dummies” and “The Complete Idiot’s Guide To Computers.” Same concept – different books.
If your book is something a publisher wants they will most likely have their lawyers go over it to make sure they aren’t buying a lawsuit. If you are looking to self-publish, then either make sure it’s a different book or find a good media attorney to look at it before you publish.
I can tell you from experience that such lawyers aren’t easy to find if you aren’t near a big city, but they don’t have to be local to you if they are only going to check a manuscript.

Thank you for the advice! So I could probably use the same lesson titles as long as I wrote my own lessons to go along with them?
Don’t use the same lesson titles because that would clearly be a ripoff of the other book.
When I said titles can’t be copyrighted that doesn’t mean you can use the same title as that book. That would clearly trying to make money off that book – even taking money away from that author because people would mistake your book for that one at times and not buy the other book.
I mean, you can call your book “Thriller” because Michael Jackson couldn’t copyright that title. Or you could call your book “Friends” although a TV series was called that.
BUT, if your book was about 3 men and 3 women friends and is very similar to the TV series, you can expect a lawsuit and will likely lose, depending upon how close it is to the TV series. If you don’t call it “Friends” you would have a much better chance of pulling it off, even if the book was a lot like the series.
If you want to do something similar to what someone else did, the trick is to change it enough so that nobody would think you took someone else’s book and just rewrote it using different words.
It can be the same subject or about the same idea, but it has to be a different book.100 people can write biographies of John F Kennedy, and can even talk about a lot of the same things, but the authors all have to write their own books and do their own research. Each of those books will talk about The Bay Of Pigs and the assassination, etc., but they will each bring their own point of view to the events and will almost always include some new information or debunk old beliefs.
