Not just the same ole’ diet I’ve been trying for years; that’s getting boring and while I do intend to lose weight and work hard at exercising, that’s not the diet I’m talking about.
In a previous post, BootPig commented about finding my focus, and making sure I have the right things in the front of my mind. My submission to Master and learning to be a stay at home submissive. While in our life this also means time to work on Submissive Guide and The Iron Gate, lately these online activities have taken the bulk of my time. I have had some inspiration from a guest post on Twitip.com about Going on a Twitter Diet. I’m not sure how well I’ll do it, but just like any diet there will be difficult points, I may cheat and in the end I will be a better person for it.
My first goal is to weed out my RSS reader of blogs I don’t read. My habit has been to add the newly discovered blogs every month to my reader, then only to find that after a few months or so I have about 10 blogs that just sit in the unread list and because I’m a fan of a clear list, I just mark them read. No more. If I am not interested in reading them and they sit more than a week with unread posts, they go bye bye. Currently I have over 300 blogs in my reader. I regularly follow maybe 20 of them. Others I like so I know they won’t go, but I can tell you there are blogs there that I’ve not read for months. Cleaning we go.
Next I’m going to take a look at my twitter. I’m going to evaluate the 254 people I’m currently following and decide 2 things. Am I following them just to get their notices of new posts? If so, move them to my RSS reader (they then become part of the vetting process mentioned above). Are they services that I can follow in other ways or don’t need to follow at all? Who need to follow Barak Obama now, or CNN news? I can get that information elsewhere. I’m honestly going to pick over every single person that I’m following and decide if they are valuable enough to me to keep in the list. I will be doing this with @lunakm and with @subguide. I’m going to utilize TweetDeck better to sort our the tidbits of information I really enjoy. Starting with links. Then make groups of friends and people of influence. That way I don’t have to feel bad about not reading my entire stream.
Lastly, I’m working on a schedule that will allow me time during the day to work on my websites after my housework is complete. I already have a housework schedule so that won’t need to be made, but making sure I don’t get sidetracked with the websites I’ve put so much work into before I’m done with what Master requires of me will be a bonus for my focus as Master’s submissive.
It’s not going to be easy, this blog is my personal thoughts and feelings and really does help Master see who I am and where I’m struggling so that he can help. I’m sure he’ll want me to continue this and I won’t be stopping it. Just be sure I’ll be living it before I write about it. I’ll make what’s most important to me, top priority. Now on to the diet!
The actual diet diet is starting. I went to the store and bought healthier options of food for both of us. Master is pushing back a bit when I ask him what healthy items he wants for lunch, but he’s going with it. He wants to tone up and I want to lose weight. It’s the same track. Exercise needs to become one of the priorities as Master’s submissive and I know I have time to do it, so that’s what I’ll be doing. I’m aiming for 4 times a week, building to 6. Perhaps I could lose 10% of my weight in 5 months. We’ll see if that goal is too lofty.

PS: I shut off the Lifestream posts. It’s nice to know what I’m doing, but not necessary to hide all my actual posts in. No more of that!

Good luck! It’s always hard making entire “lifestyle” changes. I’m doing the same with dieting and exercising, though I’m on a hump: flooding and injury have gotten in the way. Don’t try to do it all at once though, ya don’t want to end up hitting a brick wall.
I think this is a very good idea. I tend to wake up with the computer, but once i’ve had breakfast, i finish up with what i was doing: anything that’s not done by that point on the computer, unless its dealing with something housework related like a bill (for example), gets put off till later. I turn the monitor off and get on with my day. It does help, you’re not running back to check if there’s email waiting for you or something. Perhaps something similar would help?
secondly: twitter. I have twitter, and it is fun, but again, this is something that gets turned off when i start my day. Perhaps a single entry outlining your plans for the day, then later, an entry with how the plans went? just as an example.
good luck – not just with this, but with the diet too!

Oh I’m sure it would help immensely! I just don’t know if I’m ready to close it down when I’m not at it. Baby steps ya know! If I slowly lower the temptation I might do better at one day staying focused on what I need to.
I wish you all the very best and hope you reach your goals!
The sorts of changes you’ve mentioned add up to some major alterations in your everyday life. Do you think you might be attempting to do too much all at once? I know how motivated and determined you feel, with lots of great resolutions, but if you want these to be permanent changes you might find it easier to maintain if you take Flylady-style babysteps. That way, you keep it manageable and hopefully reduce the risk of downward spirals if it doesn’t go according to plan.
Just my thoughts; I think you’ve got great plans and I’ll be cheering you on!!
Sure it could be hard. But changing my online habits should help me free up time to do the things I should be focusing on. I’ve already begun to stop getting notices from FetLife from any groups I’m not leader of and my email inbox thanks me.
Twitter is today. I will trim my following list down to a more meaningful level.
Then I can rework my online schedule around my daily home schedule and not the other way around.
It will be good for me. These changes are going to free me. I’m ready. Babysteps aren’t needed. The diet on the other hand is tiny steps. Just changing what food is available in the house has been a great first step.
Good luck on your new priorities, looks as if you are maturing and taking on more responsibilities with your submission! And for the diet, please make those changes slowly….the only thing that ever worked for me was Optifast a liquid diet………….but not eating has its downfalls………….I did lose a ton….now with my cancer I am losing again, but Luna,
you are a beautiful sub and you will do great. Your body is your Masters temple and you should keep it that way!!!!!!!!
