Fired

I have been fired for looking at my websites from work. Sucks but I can’t say it’s not fair. I broke policy. Now what do I do?

Now what do you do? you look for a new job..

but it sucks big monkey balls that you got fired for looking at your own website!

Major vibes, well wishes, faerie dust and all the rest to speed you to finding another job.

And tonight say, “to heck with it!” go out with your sweetie, drink too much beer, eat burgers (or fast food of choice), enjoy yourself…

cos tomorrow is another day and that new and even better job is just around the corner waiting for you!

Now, fair or not, you file for unemployment… it’s gotten to the point where most employers aren’t even fighting the claims for “fair” termination. Then you give yourself a little bit of time to regroup, and start looking again.

Has your viewing your websites at work been a problem in the past, or is this a policy that they’re just starting to implement?

Either way… I’m sorry to hear it. C and I are both unemployed right now, and the market is tough.

    Was it just your sites or surfing in general? Did they have a policy in place beforehand?
    
    I’d totally file for unemployment.

      It was my ‘SM and sexual bondage sites’. They have an internet surfing policy. During my downtime, which was at least 2 hours a day, I surfed everything to keep myself busy.
      
      I filed for unemployment tonight. We’ll see.
      
      Please keep me posted about your mom, Dad hasn’t called me and I’m not ready to talk to him, especially since his first words will likely be, “how’s work?”

        To be perfectly honest, she’s not well. I’m headed back out there on the 27th of this month and I’ll stay a week. I’ll let you know more when I know more. I should be speaking with her hospice nurse this week or next.

I’m so sorry to hear that you got fired. It seems unfair that you received no warning so you could have stopped with the private surfing.

Luna, I am SO sorry that you lost your job. You will most certainly be in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you keep us posted with the new job search. I know the job market is hard now, so I wish you much luck. Also, I should pause to say thank you for your website. I’ve been reading for a while now and have found much here that has helped me. In fact, Master and I have just started our own blog and many of your posts have given me much to think about.
