There are certain commands that Master has me conditioned to respond to. I also respond to his snapping fingers. Of course, I am also commanded to respond fully to any question he asks, especially when I’m gagged (and not to simply nod my head or whatnot). The latter can be especially frustrating, as he’ll make me say something over and over until he understands it. Often, he’ll intentionally misunderstand it:
Him: “Does kajira want her nipples caned?”
me: “Mmmm mmph mmm mmm mmr mmmph mmm.” (translation: No Master, kajira does *not* want her nipples caned.”
Him: “Oh, she *does* want her nipples caned?”
me: (louder) “”Mmmm mmph mmm mmm mmr mmmph mmm.”
Him: “I can’t understand you… so you do want them caned? Extra hard?”
etcetera, etcetera…
Ohhhh, yeah, this my Dom does do. Bastard. lol

My Dom doesn’t really stand on protocol for anything. Most of our verbal interactions in a scene are me answering question or identifying myself as His. Even our negotiations lack subtly and grace.
“I like to tie people up.”
“I like to be tied up!”
“May I tie you up?”
“Yes, please!”
“I would like to hurt you with this cane while you are tied up.”
“I – um – well – I’m not sure how I feel about that, but I’m willing to try it. I’ll say ‘red’ if it’s problem, okay?”
“Okay!”
(This is actually a negotiation that took place the first time he caned me. I’d never been caned before at that point, so the toy he was waving around was pretty terrifying.)

Vocal training is great, as luna well knows. She has rules about what to say and how to say them.
When speaking to me directly she is to address me as “master”.
When addressing other Doms/Dommes in a lifestyle scene she is to address them as “sir” or “ma’am”, prefixed preferred over postfixed due to my english ways.
While talking she is to make sure not to use any language that has authoritive meanings. ie. “Can I have some candy please?” over “I want some candy” or “Let’s get some candy”.
Rules like this help to emphasize her role and keep her in the correct submissive mind which is a very good thing =)
